We host the world's largest peer-to-peer community of lenders and borrowers hiring luxury occasion-wear. Each week, thousands of discerning fashion lovers use our platform to share and re-use garments, helping to reduce the environmental impacts of the clothing industry.

We are entering an extremely exciting phase of growth and global expansion. Having recently completed a full modern stack rebuild, our marketplace platform is ready to be extended to cement our position in Australia and rapidly develop our brand and product offering in overseas markets.

The Role

This is rare opportunity to join a rapidly scaling and well-funded business as our in-house front-end development expert. You will help us build modern and beautiful web interfaces used by thousands of people every day.

As a front-end engineer in a small team you'll be empowered adopt the latest technologies to produce a seamless online experience for our customers, whilst enjoying the developer experience that working on a state of the art web stack will bring to you.

This is a full-time role, however we can be flexible with regard to the amount of days to suit the right candidate's circumstances.

The role is open to remote workers of any time zone, however you will need to attend synchronous daily meetings at between 03:00 and 05:00 UTC.

Responsibilities

Create beautiful user interfaces and TypeScript code using Next.js, React or similar technologies
Review pull requests from other engineers to maintain codebase quality
Learn and share knowledge with other developers including mentoring and pair programming sessions
Attend 15 min daily video conference meetings, weekly planning meetings and monthly retrospectives

Your skills and background

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
3+ year experience web development with React or similar
Expert level TypeScript
GraphQL

Nice to have:

Next JS
UX Design
Consulting experience
Knowledge of the fashion and clothing industries
Marketplace web development
Digital marketing experience, web analytics and customer acquisition
Machine learning and AI skills
Shopify App development with Polaris
